The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Alcoa Takeover Reports or Johnson & Johnson Controversy

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A pre-open pop in shares of Alcoa (AA) as it is reported that both BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto are considering bidding for the aluminum producer...
  • A controversy for Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) as an executive steps down amid questions about improper payments "in connection with the sale of medical devices in two small-market countries"...
  • A new product from BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIMM)...
  • Some mild optimism on Citigroup (C) as it is said that "investors should consider jumping into the stock at current levels"...
  • Word that Applebee's International Inc. (APPB) may put itself on the action block...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Prisoners of love - Web site offers captive dates...yes that is correct, someone has actually created a website where "some of America's most desirable felons are lining up to send you love letters, poems and even proposals of marriage"...it is said that this is "an investment for the future"...

I have never been so afraid of the future...
