The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Earnings from Google, XOM or New Leadership at Dell
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- Earnings from Google (GOOG)...the company posted better-than-expected results but the stock is seeing slight weakness in early trading...
- Word that Michael Dell is replacing Kevin Rollins as the CEO of DELL...shares of the computer maker are now indicated up four percent...
- A look into the Fed's decision to leave interest rates at 5.25%...
- Skepticism new leadership from Michael Dell may not be enough to turn Dell (DELL) around...
- Earnings from Exxon Mobil (XOM)...the oil company [said in my best sinister voice] "posted the largest annual profit in U.S. history"...[insert maniacal laughter]...
- Earnings from Starbucks (SBUX)...the stock showing only a slight bump in pre-open action...
- Speculation that earnings growth will break an 18-quarter string of double-digit growth...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Miami braces for Super Bowl halftime flush...according to the article, "Miami civic officials are asking residents to time their trips to the bathroom during the Super Bowl because extra flushing at halftime can put added stress on the sewers"...yes, that is right, they are saying "people should stagger their trips to the loo"...
