The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Earnings from Lennar or a Potential Bristol-Myers Bid

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Earnings from Lennar (LEN)...as I noted, the home builder is getting some attention after it posted inline results but said it would miss its forecast for the year...
  • A potential bid for Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) by French drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis (SNY)...
  • A look into what may become of DaimlerChrysler's (DCX) Chrysler unit...
  • Word from the Fed front as Cleveland Federal Reserve President Sandra Pianalto (shockingly) says "we are keeping our eyes on inflationary pressures"...
  • A move by Yahoo (YHOO) to create " a mobile advertising network that will allow marketers to place ads not only on its mobile services, but also on those of other online publishers"...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story, courtesy of my colleague Beth Gaston Moon, is this - Now scientists create a sheep that's 15% human...according to the article " Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs"...

The article discusses the organ transplant potential but I have to wonder if this is just part of the master plan of the looming animal uprising...I know that others are concerned so I thought this needed to be pointed out...

And speaking of Beth, she also chided me for a an omission in yesterday's biggest! news! of! the! day! post saying - " I think there was a bit of an oversight on your part today, as you should have found some way to include the 'Undewear Gnomes' theme song:"

  • Time to go to work. Work all night.
  • Search for underpants, hey.
  • We won't stop until we have underpants.
  • Yum tum yummy tum tay!
