The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Bad Debt Warning or Same-Store Sales

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Details on same-store sales from Wal-Mart Stores (WMT)...
  • A warning from HSBC (HBC)...the European banking concern said charges "for bad debts would be over $10.5 billion for 2006, some 20 percent above analysts' average forecasts, due to problems in its U.S. mortgage book"...
  • An overview of the retail sales picture...
  • A look into what Home Depot's (HD) new chief executive, Frank Blake, is doing to boost the home improvement retailer...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Gadget toilet made for modern kings and queens...plumbing firm Roto-Rooter has "created a luxury toilet equipped with laptop computer and flat-screen TV which it plans to give away in an online sweepstake"...yes, you read that correctly...the company has really launched a "Pimped Out John" (their name) campaign because they think this fills a vital need as - "The average person spends 11,862 hours in the bathroom, which equals one year, four months and five days in a lifetime... a toilet should be the most wonderful location in your home."

This may be the oddest thing I have ever seen...and maybe the most disturbing...but still interesting...anyone who wants to enter can do so here...
