The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Home Depot, Wal-Mart, 401(k) Mistakes or Panics
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- A move by Home Depot (HD) to cut the price of the wholesale supply unit it has been trying to unload...
- Speculation that Wal-Mart Stores (WMT) may be on an acquisition spree...
- Advice on three 401(k) errors to avoid...
- A comparison between the current "panic" and ones from the past...
- A look into daytrading...
- A meeting at Altria Group (MO) "to consider spinning off the overseas division of its cigarette business in a bid to boost the stock price"...
- The acquisition of Gateway (GTW) by Acer...(note - I forgot Gateway even existed as a stock anymore!]...
- An interesting development in advertising as companies are paying people to wrap their cars in advertisements...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Gaping hole found in universe...according to the article, "A giant hole in the Universe is devoid of galaxies, stars and even lacks dark matter"...
I fully admit that I really don't understand how there can be a "hole" in the Universe but it doesn't seem good? Especially when the article notes comments such as:
- "they have no idea why it is there"
- "is not normal"
- "Not only has no one ever found a void this big, but we never even expected to find one this size"
Someone get the spackle and a really big putty knife...or at least the big roll of duct tape...
