The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Business Objects, Morgan Stanley's Option Report, or Google's Social Network

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • The acquisition of Business Objects (BOBJ) by SAP (SAP)...
  • Concerns about the market as a report from Morgan Stanley shows "Investors are paying the most ever to protect against a drop in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index"...[note - I will have more on this later today...]
  • Concerns [subscription required] about the market as it is said "I shake my head because history is pretty convincing about trying to inflate your way out of problems...It always ends badly"
  • Expectations for a drop in oil...
  • A look by Herb Greenberg into "what Citigroup didn't say"...
  • A move by Google (GOOG) to jump into social networking and potentially take on Facebook and MySpace...
  • Optimism on ETFs related to "companies involved in [the] provision, treatment, and delivery " of water...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Orangutan prefers blondes...according to the article, "Sibu the Orangutan has miffed his Dutch keepers by refusing to mate with females and showing sexual interest only in tattooed human blondes"...

Okay...let me see if I can put this into words...

For months now I have been showing point after point that suggests a looming animal uprising. Recently we saw a a criminal gang of baboons and then we had an orangutan mugging incident. That was followed by a group that wants to get a chimp declared a person.

I am not sure how today's story fits into the list above, but I think it does...and I am certain it is not good!
