The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Citigroup, Mattel, Biogen Idec, Goldman Sachs or Fox Business News

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Earnings from Citigroup (C)...
  • Earnings from Mattel (MAT)...
  • A possible sale of Biogen Idec Inc. (BIIB)...
  • Questions about Goldman Sachs' (GS) earnings...
  • A look into how the Street deals with stress...drugs...alcohol...the usual...
  • A new fund from Citigroup (C), Bank of America (BAC), and JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM) "to help revive the asset-backed commercial paper market"...
  • A look inside the new business news channel from Fox...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Woman to get reward for turning in cash...according to the article, "A woman who found $20,000 in cash at a convenience store last month is getting a $500 reward from the armored car company that lost it"...

What makes this story standout isn't that the woman turned the cash in (or the comment below) but that the articles notes that - "Last week, a sanitation worker in St. Petersburg, Fla., found a plastic bag on the road that contained $65,000 after first mistaking the bag for a turtle. That money had apparently fallen from a Loomis armored car a half-hour earlier".

Forget work - I am going to start following armored cars around. Apparently they just drop bags of money all over the place!

On a side note - want to see the definition of an optimist? It is someone who gives up $20,000 and still manages to say "I have $500 that I didn't have three days ago, and that's really helpful to me"...
