The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not BP's Probe

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • News that BP is facing a government probe into whether the company manipulated the oil and gasoline markets...
  • Optimism on Anadarko Petroleum (APC)...
  • A $3 billion stock buyback by Boeing (BA)...
  • A report that says the rich are getting richer while debt piles up for the rest...
  • Time Warner's (TWX) announcement that their AOL division has opened the doors on a music and subscription service...
  • And, of course, the general apprehension around the FOMC meeting minutes which are due at 2 p.m. Eastern...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is word that Tom Cruise's production company has lined up financing...now that both Tom and Wall Street are being taken care of my nights should be full of restful slumber...
