The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not the CPI

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • The CPI report that matched expectations...
  • This article that suggests some stocks with large at-the-money open interest could get pinned today...
  • A bit of skepticism [subscription required] on technology companies as it is said "judging from the dust gathering on some tech-company shelves, there might be more pain to come"...
  • The announcement that Ford Motor (F) "sped up plant closings and staff cut plans by four years and suspended its dividend payment"...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from Adobe Systems (ADBE)...
  • Chatter about Microsoft's (MSFT) digital-media player...
  • This article that says Linear Technology (LLTC), Maxim Integrated Products (MXIM), Symantec (SYMC), EMC (EMC), and Avid Technology (AVID) could be takeover targets...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is the discovery of a new "fluffy planet"..."if you could imagine putting it in a cosmic water glass, it would float"...what excites me about this is the idea of the giant cosmic glass...think of all the possibilities for new happy-hour drinks!
