The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! Not Amazon, General Motors or the Fed

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Better-than-expected numbers and upbeat forecast from Amazon.com (AMZN)...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from General Motors (GM)...
  • Chatter about today's FOMC announcement where it is widely expected the Fed will leave rates unchanged...
  • A warning from Corning (GLW) that came with better-than-expected earnings...
  • Some upbeat comments from Standard & Poor's about the prospects over the next few months...
  • Word that Carl Icahn was named as the new chairman of ImClone Systems (IMCL)...
  • A mixed report from Boeing (BA)...
  • Upbeat comments on large-cap tech stocks...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is - Eyelash transplants set to sweep nip tuck world...that's right, now even the most eyelash-challenged of us can now hold our heads high as the article quotes one person as saying...

"I think eyelashes are awesome. You can never have enough of them"
I know what I want for Christmas...
