The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not DuPont Job Cuts or Apple's iPod Concerns

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Job cuts at DuPont (DD) as the company said it will eliminate roughly 1,500 jobs...
  • An analysis of Apple Computer's (APPL) reliance on the iPod and a belief that "If Jobs is out of tricks, and Apple's sales start to slow, many of the growth-fund managers who've bought its stock may become sellers"...
  • A look into Google (GOOG) and the potential issue for "a litigation explosion" saying "YouTube could be a boon for the networks in unforeseen ways"...
  • A recap of hedge fund performance and a discussion of the industry...
  • Word that an injunction barring the generic version of Plavix was upheld...
  • Expectations [subscription required] about what Citigroup's (C) upcoming Investor's Day meeting could bring...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - In Antarctica, the Crud is a natural hazard...you mean to tell me that some of the best and brightest are gathered for serious scientific research and the best description of an illness is the Crud???...
