The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Earnings News from Research In Motion, Red Hat, or Qualcomm

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Better-than-expected earnings from Research In Motion (RIMM) that have the stock poised to gap higher at the open...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from Red Hat (RHAT) that have its stock also poised to gap higher at the open...
  • A warning from Qualcomm (QCOM) that is putting slight pressure on the stock...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from Micron Technology (MU) that appear to be giving its stock a small pre-open boost...
  • Word from Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) that they agreed "to settle a federal investigation into illegal sales and marketing activities"...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is that we have a three-day weekend looming! Merry Christmas!!!

P.S. Please be careful of repetitive strain injuries - ("Sore thumbs, inflamed elbows and stiff shoulders are among the musco-skeletal injuries linked to excessive use of the popular high-tech games and gadgets that could be under the tree"...)
