The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Express Scripts Merger or Delta Air Lines Bankruptcy

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A move by Express Scripts (ESRX) to buy Caremark (CMX) and break up its deal with CVS (CVS)..
  • A bullish [subscription required] Barron's cover story on ConocoPhillips (COP) as it is said the stock "is too cheap to ignore on an absolute basis and relative to its peer group"...
  • Bankruptcy plans by Delta Air Lines (DALRQ)...
  • Some advice on how "to survive the real estate bust"...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Swedish Christmas goat survives attack...as discussed two weeks ago, officials in Sweden have been locked in a 40-year struggle to protect a "giant straw Christmas goat"...this year's strategy appears to be working as dousing the goat with flame-resistant chemicals prevented it from burning down, even as it was soaked with gasoline...
