The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not PPI, Oracle's Software Licenses or Thailand's Baht

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Earnings from Oracle (ORCL) that matched expectations - new software licenses sales, however, offered a concern that is pressuring the stock...
  • A plunge in Asian stocks as Thailand's central bank imposed rules to reign in the baht...Thailand's SET Index sank nearly 15 percent...
  • A higher-than-expected PPI report - producer prices increased two percent while the core PPI climbed 1.3 percent....
  • Some skepticism on the market as it is said "there's good reason to fear that big profit increases may soon be a thing of the past, and with them the big market gains of the past four years"...
  • A disappointing earnings report from Circuit City (CC) that has the stock poised to gap lower at the open...
  • Word that eBay (EBAY) will partner with a Chinese company and close its main website in China...
  • A look into AOL's new strategy...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Woman tells cop she bought 'bad crack'...as you might expect "woman was arrested after complaining to a police officer that the crack cocaine she had just purchased wasn't very good"...
