The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Motorola or Unemployment Report

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A warning by Motorola (MOT) that has the stock poised to gap lower by nearly 10 percent...
  • The stronger-than-expected nonfarm payrolls report that is "dashing fleeting hopes held by some that the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates soon"...
  • A look into the relative underperformance of Gap (GPS)...
  • An upbeat look into AT&T (T) as it is said "Although AT&T may not repeat the success of 2006, investors should find the shares to be a worthwhile holding"...
  • A complacent look into the slide in the dollar as it is argued "A steep drop is unlikely, and there are advantages to a further slide"...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Bank issues credit card to cat...according to the article "An Australian bank has apologized for issuing a credit card to a cat"...uh - wasn't that an episode of "The Simpsons"?...there should be some sort of special punishment for those who commit errors that have already been highlighted by cartoons...
