The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Pfizer Earnings, Sun Microsystems Using Intel Chips, or IBM's Social Networking Push
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- Earnings from Pfizer (PFE) that beat analysts' estimates but came with a comment that the company "faces 'difficult' business conditions ahead"...
- An expected announcement that Sun Microsystems (SUNW) will begin using chips from Intel (INTC)...
- A new social networking service from IBM...according to this article the service "functions like a MySpace for office workers" and " analysts say marks a renewed challenge to Microsoft Corp."...
- Chatter of the "Super Bowl indicator" which supposedly says "says the bulls can start celebrating right now"...(note - before reading this you might want to google the phrases "spurious correlation" and "spurious relationship"...)
- Speculation that Google (GOOG) is looking to buy Adscape Media, "a company that places ads within hundreds of video games"...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Owner of ritzy shop sues homeless for $1 million...according to the article - the "owner of the posh Karl Kemp & Associates Antiques, Ltd. on Madison Avenue, sued three men and a woman for $1 million earlier this month, alleging they scare away customers"...
Let me get this straight, he is suing the homeless for a large a sum of money...I am definitely not a legal expert but I seem to see a flaw in that plan...
