The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Dell Offering Linux, the ADP Index or MagicJack
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- Speculation that Dell (DELL) may start offering the Linux operating system...
- Data from Automatic Data Processing (ADP) about the employment picture...the ADP index, which is supposed to offer an indication of how the monthly nonfarm payroll report (due Friday) will come in, showed "the weakest job growth since July 2003"...
- Details on a new internet calling service, MagicJack, which is said to be a "a Vonage/Skype killer"...
- Skepticism on the yesterday's bounce back...
- Chatter about the merger of Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI) and XM Satellite Radio (XMSR) as it is said that the chairman of the SEC has "has privately questioned recent Congressional testimony by the architect of a proposed merger"...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Makers of Sodas Try a New Pitch: They're Healthy...both Coca-Cola (KO) and PepsiCo (PEP) are set to "introduce new carbonated drinks that are fortified with vitamins and minerals"...
As you would expect, critics are quick to point this out as a marketing ploy as it is called "'a joke' to market artificially sweetened soft drinks as healthy, even if they were fortified with vitamins and minerals"...it is also noted that surveyed consumers are against "putting something synthetic and not natural into their bodies "...
Exactly! Only "natural" things are healthy! Now please excuse my while I take a quick break to enjoy my 100-percent organically-grown salad of poison ivy greens and wash it down with some invigorating and all-natural radon water...
