The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Texas Instruments or Toyota

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • An upbeat earnings report from Texas Instruments (TXN) that has the shares poised to gap higher at the open...
  • Earnings from DuPont (DD)...
  • Earnings from AT&T (T)...
  • Word that Toyota Motor (TM) has overtaken General Motors (GM) as the world's top auto seller...
  • Upbeat comments on Best Buy (BBY) as Standard & Poor's says the stock is a "strong buy"...
  • A report that ranks Google (GOOG) as world's top-ranked brand...
  • The comeback of Nintendo as the Wii is said to be "a pop culture smash of such dimensions that Nintendo still can't make consoles fast enough"...
  • A look into what goes into bailing out subprime borrowers...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Fruity cocktails count as health food, study finds...according to the article, "A fruity cocktail may not only be fun to drink but may count as health food"...

No, I am not making this up...a report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture says "Any colored fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol"...

I would like this story a bit better if it read something along the lines "drinking premium beer while eating medium-rare steak shown to cure all disease" but I think it is a step in the right direction...I guess I could be persuaded to sip on some fruity drink if I was doing it for my health...
