The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Erbitux, McDonald's Sales, or Countrywide Sellers

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Positive Phase III data for Erbitux that has ImClone Systems (IMCL) shares poised to gap up more than 25%...Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) shares aren't seeing much of a reaction...
  • Brisk demand for breakfast items at McDonald's Corp. (MCD)...
  • Suffering in the hedge fund space as they "lost 1.31 percent in August, according to Chicago-based industry tracker Hedge Fund Research"...
  • Word that two of the largest shareholders of Countrywide Financial (CFC) are jumping ship...
  • Earnings from Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO)...
  • A look into what happens when analysts drop coverage of a stock completely....
  • A look into why lead paint is popping up so often...
  • A re-branding effort by AT&T (T)...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Calif. carpenter can work in the buff...according to the article, "A carpenter caught hammering nails and sawing wood in the nude has been found by a judge to be not guilty of indecent exposure"...

The story isn't noteworthy because of the verdict, it is noteworthy because it is only a matter of time before we see it resurface in the form of "Nude Calif. carpenter hurt as..." or something like that.

You know why you need eye protection when working with tools? Because things go wrong and things fly at you. This guy's fear shouldn't be the law, it should be splinters...
