The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not PPI, Lehman Brothers, Adobe, or E-Trade

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A sharp drop in the Producer Price Index (PPI)...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from Lehman Brothers (LEH)...
  • Earnings from Adobe Systems (ADBE)...
  • A warning from E-Trade Financial Corp. (ETFC) as the company runs away from the wholesale-mortgage business...
  • Word that The New York Times would stop charging for content...
  • The introduction of "carbonated yogurt"...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Baboon adopts chicken at zoo...according to the article, "A lonely baboon in a private Lithuanian zoo has adopted a chicken he saved from certain death last month and the two have formed a fast friendship"...

The "big" story last week was the abandoned monkey who found love with a pigeon and now we have yet another "hairy primate loves egg-laying vertebrate" story? (Sort of like Joanie loves Chachi?) Is this a sign of the end?

However, the outcome of this pairing maybe be less "cute" as it is noted that the Hamadryas Baboon "has been fed chicken meat before"...and..."may finally realize this is food..."

At this point I feel it is my duty to repeat my warning from last week...Consider what that offspring is going to look like and you get the terrifying image below. It is all cute monkey hugs until the witch breeds a group of these flying demon spawn. Next thing you know you are walking down some yellow street with a dude dressed in a cat costume. Someone please end this before it starts!!!
