The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not CVS, Time Warner, or Tobacco Ruling
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- Merger talks between CVS Corp. (CVS) and Caremark Rx (CMX)...
- Earnings from Time Warner (TWX)...
- A push by Morgan Stanley (MS) to get more involved in the hedge fund game...
- Some comments on Krispy Kreme (KKD) from Herb Greenberg's blog...
- Disappointing news that Pfizer's (PFE) drug torcetrapib has "a potentially serious side effect"...
- News that the "appeals court blocked a landmark judgment against the tobacco industry"...
- Some skeptical comments on telecom stocks as it is noted that "analysts have a mixed outlook on whether those stocks can go much higher"...
- Some comments [subscription required] from me about yesterday's action...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is - Rambo IV: Can't We All Be Friends?...I don't know what is more disturbing...the fact that they are dusting off Stallone for yet another sequel...the fact that Thailand wants the movie to "avoid excessive violence" (have they ever seen a Rambo movie?)...or that some think a Rambo movie "will help boost the country's image as a relaxing and nice place to stay"...seriously???
