The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Kerkorian or al Qaeda Web Site Threat
Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...
- Word that Kirk Kerkorian has now dumped all of his stake in General Motors (GM)...
- A warning from the Department of Homeland Security that al Qaeda may be targeting financial institution Web sites...
- Expectations that Vista, the new operating system from Microsoft (MSFT), will have little impact on the tech sector...
- Chatter that Home Depot (HD) may be a buyout candidate...
- Upbeat comments [subscription required] on Ingersoll-Rand (IR) as it is said "investors in the maker of Bobcat could be fat cats a year down the road."...
- A stock screen from Standard & Poor's that highlights these stocks as winners - Coach (COH), First Marblehead (FMD), L-3 Communications (LLL), Panera Bread (PNRA), ResMed (RMD), SRA International (SRX), and WellPoint (WLP)...
- A new development in the UnitedHealth (UNH) option quagmire...
While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Woman Sues Kraft Over Guacamole Dip...there has been a suit filed against Kraft Foods (KFT) "alleging the dip Kraft has the audacity to call 'guacamole,' which traditionally consists principally of avocado, is actually a mishmash of partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, whey, water and corn syrup"...apparently avocado is just a small portion of the dip...this also brings the shocking revelation of no regulation - "the federal government doesn't regulate avocado content in products purporting to be guacamole"...how can this be?!?!?!...I propose that food packages should have labels that list ingredients (in order) so that no one would be duped by such treachery...oh wait minute...
