The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Steve Jobs' Options or iTunes Overload

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Continued developments surrounding Apple Computer's (AAPL) option story from yesterday...the current contention is that options may have been granted to Steve Jobs without a full board meeting, which was required...it is said that records may have been falsified...
  • The weekly jobless claims report that showed a slight increase...
  • Some upbeat comments on Boeing (BA) as it is said that woes at Airbus will give Boeing pricing power that "will help make 2007 a banner year for the Chicago-based aerospace giant"...
  • A surge in online traffic that "overwhelmed" Apple Computer's (AAPL) iTunes music store...
  • A look into challenges of using wind to generate electricity...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Japanese gadget has plants talking back...apparently some company has created a "translator" to "express the feelings of plants"...according to the article, "the device will share what the plant is supposedly 'thinking' when a person strokes it" and includes a large number of phrases, "some as potentially uncomfortable as 'Do you have a boyfriend?'"...

Seriously?!?!?!?
