The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Airline Merger or Shrinking Microchips from IBM and Intel

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Continued merger chatter from the airline sector as U.S. Airways Group (LCC) ups its bid for Delta Air Lines Inc. (DALRQ)...
  • Earnings from Verizon Communications (VZ)...the telecommunication firm posted slightly better-than-expected results but the stock doesn't seem to be getting much of a pre-boost...
  • Breakthroughs in the semiconductor sector as both International Business Machines (IBM) and Intel (INTC) "separately say they have solved a puzzle perplexing the semiconductor industry about how to reduce energy loss in microchip transistors as the technology shrinks to the atomic scale"...
  • Opinions on what stocks may benefit from the global warming fight...
  • A look into Microsoft's (MSFT) new Windows Vista...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Snakes help soothe the joints at spa...according to the article, a beauty spa in Israeli offers a "treatment" that includes having "six non-venomous but very lively serpents slither and hiss a path across their aching muscles and stiff joints"...are you kidding me?!?!?!?...people are actually paying money to let a snake slither across them for some sort of "therapeutic effect"?...I wonder what P. T. Barnum's forgotten competitor would have to say about that...
