The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not iPhone Lawsuit, Bank of England Rate Hike or Genentech Earnings

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A lawsuit from Cisco Systems (CSCO) to stop Apple (AAPL) from using the term "iPhone"....
  • A surprise interest rate hike from the Bank of England...
  • Better-than-expected earnings from Genentech (DNA) that are giving a lift to the company's shares...
  • Renewed speculation that XM Satellite Radio (XMSR) and Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI) will merge...
  • A look into the outlook for aluminum as Alcoa's (AA) earnings report is spurring some to reevaluate their forecasts...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Three pigs trigger fire in rural Serbia...according to the article "A farmer's home in northern Serbia was destroyed in a blaze caused by three pigs that broke out of their pen, walked into the living room and knocked over the TV"...

And you thought I was just being paranoid on Monday when I said that a pig uprising was at hand...in that post we saw a farmer attacked and now we find a house burned down?!?!?...the war has begun - do your part - eat bacon!
