The! Biggest! News! of! the! Day! - Not Job Report, Dow Chemical Buyout or Buffett

Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Details on Friday's employment report...
  • A potential buyout of Dow Chemical (DOW)...in what "could be the world's biggest ever leveraged buyout", a group that includes Kohlberg Kravis Roberts is said to considering a $50 billion offer...
  • A rally in overseas markets...
  • A drop in the price of oil...
  • Word that Warren Buffett has jumped aboard Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNI)...
  • Some comments from Herb Greenberg about the quality of earnings...
  • Expectations for Friday's PPI report...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - No weirdness, vulgarity for TV talent show?...according to the article - "China's broadcasting watchdog has issued a list of rules governing the airing of its latest take on the 'American Idol' television series, urging the singing contest 'Happy Boys Voice' to uphold high moral standards"...

Okay, so they are going to imitate "American Idol" under the rules of "No weirdness, no vulgarity and no low taste" and the "Judges are to refrain from mocking or humiliating contestants"...I guess it is just going to be an hour of silence? (Finally - an "Idol" show I could watch.)
